Seniors- May 1st Deadline
You have been accepted to college, but your job is not done. May 1st is the national date where colleges can drop their offer of admission if you do not respond to their offer by sending in your deposit. Colleges should have sent you an email with the details. If you are not sure what I am blogging about, and you are a senior who has been accepted to college, a quick call to the office of admissions will clear things up. We are gonna miss you!

David Skinner- GDA Scholarships
The David Skinner Scholarships, offered by the Georgia Development Authority, are made available to students who are interested in majoring in an agriculture-related field in college. The application due date is May 7th, and applications can be accessed at www.gdaonline.com.
Reconciliation Day is May 2nd
We are at the end of the school year and grade accounts are at the point of finalizing. On May 2nd, we will go past the grace period where students can clean up existing zeros in the grade book or retake any exams that are eligible for retakes. On May 3rd, we will be able to calculate a student's ability to still (mathematically) pass a class. Please note that more grades will be taken after May 2nd. This date is a check point, not a finish line!

For a freshman, sophomore or junior, a failed class means one of a few things:
- retake the failed class next year
- retake the class in summer school
For a senior, a failed class can mean not graduating. Early notification of this fact will allow families a "bad-surprise-free" May and will allow them to make plans for alternatives.
Parents- PLEASE check Infinite Campus and do not assume that things are going well. We work hard to communicate your student's status in classes throughout the year with you, but ultimately Infinite Campus is a foundational tool that is always on. Please ride 'em hard through the finish line!
