Great Ways to Help Your Student Handle Anxiety

Many Social Circle students struggle at one point or another with anxiety.  There are many contributing factors.  Dr. Tim Elmore provides insight on circumstances that could be contributing to a student's difficulty in handling a situation with stress involved.  The answer is working on coping as opposed to removing the stress.  Stress is important as it helps prepare students for the adult world where deadlines have to be met.  I hope this article provides you with tools to grow your student up!

Walton Youth Advocacy Board is Looking for You!

Any 9th through 12th grade student who is looking for ways to get involved in the community, looking for ways to improve a resume with MEANINGFUL activities, or is simply wanting to meet new people, the Walton Youth Advocacy Board is just what you are looking for!

The Walton Youth Advocacy Board is recruiting rising 9-12 graders from Walton County Schools to join the 2019-2020 Youth Advocacy Board. This is a great opportunity for youth who may not be involved in many leadership positions in school or their community. Joining YAB is an awesome experience for students to develop their leadership skills, learn more about the county and create positive change. By joining the Board, members are asked to attend one monthly meeting, complete at least 20 hours of volunteer service during the year and attend other community events. These events include youth leadership conferences, advocacy days at the State Capitol and fundraising opportunities. All applications are due by 5 pm on April 19.
