Wanna Do Dual Enrollment in 2020-2021?

DUAL ENROLLMENT IS A COMPLICATED ANIMAL WITH A LOT OF OPPORTUNITIES TO GET HURT WHEN NOT HANDLED CORRECTLY.
Michael Kulp

Dual Enrollment is a great option for families, but there are many things that students and parents need to know going in.

There will be the first of three meetings offered to students AND parents providing information about dual enrollment classes next year on Thursday, December 12th at 6 pm in the Cafeteria.  Attendance at one of the three meetings is mandatory for any student and parent of a dual enrollment wannabe student.  The first meeting will have representatives from the three main colleges that we dual enroll with- Athens Technical College, Georgia Military College and Georgia State University Perimeter.
They will share what requirements a student must have in order to get into their dual enrollment programs, so this meeting will provide the biggest punch!

If you cannot make this meeting, Mr. Kulp will provide a Saturday morning meeting for students and for parents who work late shifts at their jobs and cannot make an evening meeting on Saturday, January 25th at 9 am.

Last, Mr. Kulp will offer one more evening meeting on Thursday, January 30th at 6pm in the Cafeteria for anyone who has not been able to attend one of the first two meetings.

Again, attendance at one of these meetings is mandatory for anyone who will seek to dual enroll in 2020-21!

Free Applications to College

Seniors:

Colleges charge a fee to apply, ranging from $25 to $100.  Wouldn't it be great if you didn't have to pay these fees?  Great news...  November is Apply to College Month, and many colleges are waiving their fee in celebration.  We are including a list of colleges SENIORS can apply to without a fee.  Applications can be accessed by going to the college's website under the "Undergraduate Admissions" tab.  Dreams aren't usually cheap to have, but this little incentive can help out!  Get after it!!

Albany State University
College of Coastal Georgia
Fort Valley State University
Georgia Gwinnett College (CODE GAC20)
Georgia Military College
Georgia Southern University
Georgia Southwestern State University
Gordon College
Jacksonville State University (November 4-8)
Middle Georgia State University

You may discover other colleges who are waiving fees that are not on this list.  Email Mr. Kulp (mike.kulp@socialcircleschools.org) with the name of the college and we will add them to this list.  Cool way to go- Social Circle families and students helping other SC families avoid these unnecessary fees!
