Award Letter Reminder

Several weeks after a parent and student completes the FAFSA, a letter will come in the mail from the college (s) that you stated on the FAFSA that you were interested in attending.  This letter is called an "Award Letter."  This letter tells you a couple of things:

  1. Expected Family Contribution (EFC)- Roughly, this is the Federal Government and the college saying "We think you can afford to pay this much."  This amount does not include student loans that are being offered through the financial aid offer.  These folks consider loans to be a part of the aid package.  EFC is your responsibility after that has been taken out.
  2. Financial Aid Breakdown- This how much money that the Federal Government and the college are going to give to go towards educational expenses (Stafford Loans- both subsidized and unsubsidized, Pell Grant funding, any money from the college).

It Is Time to Register for Classes for the 2018-19 School Year

Social Circle students will be gearing up to make class decisions for next school year.  At Social Circle, we like to make this a two week process where students and parents have time to think about classes, ask questions and make solid decisions about these year-long classes for the next year.  In order to help with that, we will be hosting juniors, sophomores and freshmen AND their parents to come to the Registration Night that will be held on February 1st, starting at 6 pm

A Breakdown of Events for Feb. 1st

In addition to this event, your student has already been receiving help in class meetings, through advisement and through a COOL new website that Ms. Taylor put together for students, teachers and parents to use when planning out high school.  It is linked off of the school website under the label of "Registration."  For convenience, here is a link:

Please take time to use the resources we are making available to help with these big decisions.

Student Access to Infinite Campus, Gmail, or Computer Log In

Students:

If you are not connected, you can't possibly do the best you can in your grades and academic performance.  We want to help you get connected!  Fill out the form linked below and turn it in to the Media Center to get your accounts reinstated.

Parents:

Since most of the folks who read this blog are you, my parents, please print this form out and lean on your kid to get this done if they say they can't log in.  Being disconnected is a leading contributor to lower performance on grades, and it is so easy to fix!
