PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE Seniors!

Currently, we have a lot of seniors that are failing one or more classes REQUIRED to graduate! (Please do not underestimate the drama with which I write these words.)  This Spring Break week is vital for you to get make up work done for your teachers.  Remember that Reconcilliation Day, May 2nd will be the last day to take care of zeros in the grade book and any retests that are still eligible to retake.  If things are not completed by this day, they become permanent.

So, why are we doing this?  Frankly, we (the adults) are working very hard to create a school where expectations are high.  We expect students to complete their work, because that is what their employers will expect.  We work very hard to offer before or after school help to students who are struggling with the material, as we know that extra effort is required sometimes to help students get the material.  We want to assure the community that we are offering diplomas that are worthy of the work that was required to earn one.  In short, we are in it to win it for the game of life.  To allow students who have not done the work to graduate would be to cheat that student.

So, we are reaching out to parents and students who are failing a class early, often and with complete details about why the grade is the way it is and what needs to be done to improve things.  It absolutely not our desire that any student not walk at graduation.  That is why we are doing everything we can early so that we can cruise into May 2nd with the expectations that students will have their affairs in order.  There will be other assignments given after May 2nd, this will just be a cut off point for students' past due assignments.

***Special Message for the Seniors Who Are Passing-  Thank you.  We will throw you a great Senior Week.  Have fun this week with a well deserved rest!
