SCAD Information

SCAD

Campuses: One of the highlights of SCAD is that they have 4 campuses and online learning as well! Students can go to school in Atlanta, Savannah, Lacoste, France, and Hong Kong, China! If a student gets admitted, they can choose the campus they want to attend, and even study abroad in another campus if they choose. It's a great opportunity for students to learn about the world through the programs that SCAD has to offer. Savannah is their largest campus with about 10,000 students.

Admissions Requirements: GPA 3.0, ACT 21, SAT 1080 (they look at national test score averages to set their minimums). Something unique about SCAD is that students can apply in their junior year of high school, and receive a decision as early as the summer after junior year once the final junior year grades are sent. Here's a full list of their admissions requirements and process: SCAD Admissions Information
-Advisers: Once a student applies, they will have an adviser reach out to them to go over next steps. They will also have, as a freshman, a student success adviser, a career adviser, and a faculty adviser! SCAD has built-in supports from different areas to ensure that the transition from high school to college is smooth. These advisers serve is distinct capacities to help with career, financial aid, and advisement decisions.

Scholarships: Since SCAD is a private college, scholarships can be essential in funding your education! It costs about $36,000/year (without housing). Freshman can live on campus or off, but expect to pay around $10,000/year for housing. The good news is that SCAD has stackable scholarships! Here are a few below, with a link to the full list:
--Academic: have a 3.5 GPA and higher test scores; range from $1500-12k/year for 4 years
--Achievement: based on portfolio submission, and range from $1000-$7500/year for 4 years

Majors and Minors:
SCAD just added 3 new majors (Business of Beauty and Fragrance, Social Strategy and Management, Immersive Reality)
--They have over 40 majors for students to choose from, with 75 minors to help add in a supplemental area for a full-range of experiences.
--Since SCAD is on the quarter system, students have 10 weeks each quarter of classes, with 3 quarters per academic year.

SCAD PRO (used to be CLC): These are industry partnerships that SCAD has, outside of internships, where students can earn course credit over a quarter to work in an unpaid capacity with industry leaders. Some examples of past partnerships have been Coca-Cola, Amazon, NASA, UNICEF, to name a few. More information: SCAD PRO

Visiting: There are several opportunities to visit the SCAD campuses. They also have opportunities to come and shadow a student to see what classes and campus life is like. Here are their upcoming SCAD DAYS and they have daily campus tours at their campuses too!
