Here is a list of scholarships that are local, which means you are only competing against local kids for these scholarships! Your odds are much better with local scholarships because the basket of eligible applicants is smaller. These are posted on the "Scholarship Postings" tab above, all the time, along with other scholarship opportunities. Let's get on it!
* Peach State Legacy Scholarship
Peach State Federal Credit Union is pleased to offer a $2000 scholarship to a senior in the Peach State service area (SCHS is!) who wants to go into education. The application due date is February 14th, 2020. The application is linked below.
* Two Scholarships from Social Circle Christian Learning Center
Two scholarships, the Sodonna Wood Polhill Memorial Scholarship and the Dr. Kenneth Fortson Scholarship, have been established to benefit a student who has taken at least one CLC class from the Social Circle Christian Learning Center. These two scholarships are worth $500 each. Applications are due by April 13.
* Gene Higginbotham Memorial Scholarship
American Pest Control is proud to offer one senior a scholarship. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and a 900 or better on the SAT or a 17 on the ACT. Applications are due no later than March 20, 2020.
* Delta Kappa Gamma Grant-In-Aid Scholarship
The Gamma Chi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma is pleased to offer one female senior, who has a 90 numeric average or better and who plans on majoring in education, help in paying for college expenses. This application is due no later than March 27, 2020.
* Raphael O. Crutchfield "Be Great" Scholarship
This scholarship has been established to give two males and two females who attend one of the four following high schools: SOCIAL CIRCLE, Monroe, Foothills or Walnut Grove. Applicants cannot have more than a 3.09 GPA, as this scholarship seeks to aid average students. Applications are due no later than April 25, 2020.
